Reviews of Swindon Designer Outlet

Submitted by Alicia O'Farrell

Swindon Designer Outlet is a great place to go with kids - it just needs a little negotiation! The deal is 'if I take you to STEAM (The Museum of the Great Western Railway, which is just next door) will you be very good while mummy goes around the shops? And if you are good you can go on the play area before we go home.' It works!

The centre has loads of outlet stores - you really do need a whole day! I made a beeline for M&S, Tula, Clarks, Faith, Gap Outlet, Cadburys, Portmerion and Bookends. The kids begged to go in Toyzone and Hamleys of course! The shops tend to vary as to how good the bargains are. Next is really good, crammed with stock and some really knockdown prices. Some of the others didn't seem to have particularly big discounts at all. Gap Outlet had less reduced items than my local branch - it was almost all full priced stock.

There are loads of places to eat, lots of parking - I visited in the school holidays, so I don't know what it's like on a Saturday - and the kids loved the play area. I would definatly recommend it!
